BACKGROUND

The National Energy Conservation Awards (NECA) were first introduced on December 14, 1991, celebrated as “National Energy Conservation Day,” to recognize exemplary efforts towards Energy Conservation in various sectors of the economy.

The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), under the guidance of the Ministry of Power (MoP), encourages and recognizes the endeavors of stakeholders in minimizing energy consumption and reducing carbon footprints by presenting Energy Conservation Awards during Energy Conservation Week, celebrated from December 14th to 20th throughout the country.

In line with NECA, APSECM is supporting the Government of Andhra Pradesh in recognizing the efforts taken by stakeholders towards the reduction of energy consumption and carbon emissions in the state. The Andhra Pradesh State Energy Conservation Awards is a prestigious award instituted in 2020 to commemorate the efforts of various organizations that have contributed to energy conservation in the state of Andhra Pradesh. This year, APSECM has announced the State Energy Conservation Awards for 2024, and the award program will be organized on a suitable date during Energy Conservation Week celebrations.

OBJECTIVE OF ENERGY CONSERVATION AWARDS

The main objective of the State Energy Conservation Awards is to recognize stakeholders who have made a tremendous contribution and put in serious efforts for the efficient utilization of energy, energy conservation, and the promotion of energy efficiency during the year 2023-24 in the state of Andhra Pradesh. This recognition will motivate other individuals and organizations in various categories to pursue higher levels of energy efficiency and energy conservation in the state.

CATEGORY OF AWARDS

The awards are proposed to be given to the top two organizations in each category mentioned below, based on energy savings, specific energy consumption, and best practices followed during the year 2023-24. This selection is based on the submission of the requisite documents to the Andhra Pradesh State Energy Conservation Mission.
